2001Vintage Sparkling

2001 Vintage Sparkling

Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, grown in the cool climes of the Macedon Ranges.

Barrel fermentation and prudent reserve base blending before bottle fermentation, plus maturation on yeast lees for 7 years before disgorgement, has created a vintage Sparkling of noted complexity and finesse.

Riesling

2008 Riesling

This is the 34th consecutive vintage widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest cool climate Rieslings.

The stony granite soils, high altitude and cool night temperatures impress the fruit of these 40 year-old Riesling vines with a special refinement and persistence of flavour.

These qualities are nurtured through hand harvesting and gentle winemaking techniques to mould a style renowned for its definitive varietal expression, fine natural acidity and the ability to age, gaining even greater complexity with time.

Chardonnay

2008 Chardonnay

Our emphasis on careful vineyard practices along with hand picking and gentle winemaking techniques all contribute to this fresh, flavoursome and complete style.

The naturally zesty melon cool climate Chardonnay is softened through some extended development time on yeast lees in tank, and completed with the inclusion of 10% in the final blend, of a small French oak barrel fermented portion - producing a clean full flavoured style with a soft textured finish.

Late Harvest Riesling (375ml)

2007 Late Harvest Riesling (375ml)

This wine is made entirely from Riesling, hand harvested at the highest sugar level of 26 Brix, from a small parcel of grapes grown on the warmer north facing slope at Granite Hills.

Retaining a natural sugar level of 10%, our Late Harvest Riesling is a moderately sweet but refreshing style best enjoyed with fresh fruit based desserts.

Pinot Noir

2006 Pinot Noir

Made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the premium Macedon Ranges districts of Baynton and Romsey.

A totally handmade wine utilising traditional winemaking techniques of small batch fermentation and small French oak maturation. This wine exhibits savoury berry fruit and warm spicy oak wrapped in a smoothly textured tannin structure.

A wine ready to be enjoyed now but will gain even greater complexity in the bottle over the next five years.

Tempranillo

2007 Tempranillo

We are excited to be producing a limited release of this relatively newcomer Spanish variety to Australia.

Our fruit is sourced from a small vineyard in Romsey in the Macedon Ranges, a short drive from Granite Hills.

The 2007 vintage is a medium to full bodied style showing typical savoury berry flavours and soft tannins all supported by some toasty American oak.

Merlot

2005 Merlot

Made from hand-harvested Merlot grapes grown in Heathcote and Macedon Ranges regions.

Matured in seasoned French and American oak for 12 months, this wine has warm toasty aromas supported by ripe fragrant Merlot fruit.

The palate is full but soft, showing spicy plum flavours and a supple tannin structure.

Made to be enjoyed now, but will gain greater complexity in the bottle with a further 2-5 years cellaring.

Cabernet Sauvignon

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Cabernet Franc 13% and Merlot 2%, all handpicked from low yielding 30 plus year old vines.

One of the best vintages in recent times, this wine leads with the ripe fragrance of Cabernet Franc followed by the deeper blackcurrant fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon and warm spicy cedar oak.

The palate is full and softly textured, with ripe berry fruit and chocolate flavours, framed by smooth mature tannins. This Cabernet is drinking beautifully now, but will reward careful cellaring until at least 2012.

Shiraz

2004 Shiraz

Made from handpicked grapes, grown on low cropped 34 year old Shiraz vines, utilising small batch fermentation techniques including hand plunging, followed by maturation in French and American oak barrels for 3 years.

From the first vintage in 1978, our Shiraz sets a benchmark for peppery Shiraz, renowned for its definitive flavour, balance, structure and ability to age gracefully in the bottle, given careful cellaring.

The palate is rich, mouth filling, well balanced and complete. It finishes long, with a final grip of fine tannins and persistent spicy fruit flavours.
